With the establishment of the ‘Espy’ and further plans to convert the remaining section of the promenade into public open space that complements the natural environment while enhancing the many local attractions, the demolition has paved the way for a new spot where both locals and visitors can enjoy the best harbour in the world.

As someone deeply committed to delivering for our community, I was proud to have followed through on this important project. While it was disappointing that the historic boardwalk ultimately wasn’t feasible, it is my hope that this revitalised space will become a cherished part of Manly’s identity. I continue to work closely with Council and other key stakeholders to ensure this urban renewal project was something we could all be proud of.
