South Curl Curl Boardwalk Reopens Delivering Safe and Accessible Costal Link for the Community

Member for Manly James Griffin MP has celebrated this weekend’s long-awaited reopening of the South Curl Curl Boardwalk as a major win for the local community and for those who have been calling for safer and more accessible connections along our coastline.

Proudly funded by the former NSW Coalition Government and delivered by the Northern Beaches Council, this new piece of community infrastructure will connect South Curl Curl Beach with the iconic Fisherman’s Walk. The result is a safer and continuous walkway that showcases the natural beauty of our coastline.

Previously, pedestrians travelling from South Curl Curl to the Fisherman’s Walk were forced to navigate the busy South Curl Curl headland carpark. This upgrade will allow pedestrians to bypass the carpark entirely while the construction of a ramp will enable pram and wheelchair access.

Member for Manly James Griffin MP said the project was an example of how strong local advocacy and smart government investment can deliver lasting benefits for the community.

“This is a great outcome for our community and one that will make a real difference to the way locals and visitors experience the Curl Curl and Freshwater areas” Mr Griffin said.

“I am proud to have supported this project and been a part of a former NSW Government who were determined to invest in projects that strengthened our local infrastructure and improved quality of life for residents.

“I congratulate the Northern Beaches Council on overseeing its timely delivery, and I look forward to seeing locals and visitors making the most of this stunning new coastal connection over the summer months.”

While some carpark works are still being finalised, the boardwalk is now open for the community to enjoy from this weekend.
