Manly Electorate Surf Clubs Cash in on Latest Round of Grants

In the Manly Electorate, the following Clubs were successful in receiving much needed grant funding to ensure their facilities remain safe, modern and inclusive for all members and volunteers who work so hard to keep the beachgoers safe:

North Curl Curl Surf Life Saving Club has received $89,700 under the Surf Club Facility Program to upgrade the club’s technological capabilities and strengthen security, protect assets, support training and community use, and improve operational sustainability. 

South Curl Curl Surf Life Saving Club received $59,248 to assist with the costs of designing the redevelopment of the clubhouse.

Dee Why Surf Life Saving Club received significant funding, including $58,830 to replace deteriorating sections of the clubhouse roof and $88,461 to upgrade the Club’s Nippers an Patrol Kitchen to provide a safer, functional space for Nipper families and patrolling members.

Queenscliff Life Saving Club received $42,855 to install rooftop solar panels and accompanying battery storage infrastructure.   

Mr Griffin said that the funding provided annually under the Surf Club Facility Program was essential to boosting participation and ensuring the long-term sustainability of Manly-based Surf Clubs. 

“Supporting our surf clubs is about investing in the volunteers who dedicate countless hours to keeping our beaches safe and training the next generation. I’m proud to back our Surf Lifesavers and advocate for much-needed funding on their behalf. They are at the heart of our community,” Mr Griffin said.
